“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.” -John 1:1-2

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, principalities, dominions or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have preeminence.’ – Colossians 1:15-18

“So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Root of David has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” -Revelation 5:4-5

There is a lot happening at the Redeeming Hope Center on any given day. There are multiple businesses that call this place home and a garden and greenhouse that call for constant tending. Children fill our basketball court and basement after school lets out and a prayer room is open all hours of the day and late into the night. There is a constant buzz in the atmosphere. But a cry has arisen in my heart. “Jesus, be preeminent here.” Right here in East Macon. It’s a strange request because HE IS PREEMINENT already. He is supreme already. No one can change that fact. However, we can choose not to give Him the first place in our hearts.

I’m reminded of Moses pleading with the Lord, not to allow them to go forward without the presence. It’s the only difference between them and the rest. His presence is the ONLY DIFFERENCE. We can do a lot of things. We can do a lot of “good” things and even bring some change, but without the Spirit of Jesus hovering over each of our hearts and lifting up the Son we will not be advancing the Kingdom. Jesus is worthy. He has called us to this mission and He has set our hearts ablaze for it, but He also calls us to remember our first love. My prayer is that Jesus would have the preeminence in your heart, your home and that it would spread to every aspect of you life.

We have a city we are called to restore and it’s not possible if Jesus isn’t ruling in our lives first. In the scriptures above, the case is made clear that JESUS IS ABLE. He made all things, He ruled over all things and He is worthy of all things. Nothing is outside of His command. So what He has called us to is totally possible. DON’T GROW WEARY. Just make sure you are bowing submissively to His will. I, personally, cannot wait to see what He does! He has big things in store for Macon. You are blessed if you live here and get to be apart.
