The Story

EJ Wallace

7-year-old Edgerin (EJ) Wallace was shot in the head on April 1, 2017 while riding in the back seat of a car in East Macon. Doing a quick Google search for “Edgerin Wallace” will provide you with all kinds of details on the shooting. What you will not read about is all of the miraculous ways the Lord has touched this boy and his family. Our Awakening Fires family had the privilege of meeting the Wallaces at the hospital the day of the shooting. A hospital administrator marched our team of 8 over to the building where EJ was and took us straight to his mama. She was there alone. We were able to stay with her and minister to her. Completely against all protocol, the hospital allowed one of our men to go back to where EJ was and lay hands on him and pray for his recovery. The hospital personnel told Justin that he wasn’t allowed to touch him, but he insisted that he had to. The Lord honors our obedience, and hears the prayers of the righteous. Against all odds EJ is recovering well. He has been moved out of ICU and is doing far better than any doctor could have ever anticipated. EJ is a miracle, and his life is precious to the Lord.

6/8/2017 Update

EJ has been recovering remarkably well. They had originally wanted to wait about a year before they went back in to remove the bullet that is still lodged in his skull. He’s in such good shape, the doctors are suggesting to go ahead with the operation. Please pray for wisdom for Tina to make a decision on when they should do the surgery on her son.

5/3/2017 Update

EJ is up and walking around! They have left for Atlanta and will be there for therapy for probably a couple months.
