Can you believe for impossible things? Two months ago I would have answered that question with a resounding “YES!”  But the Lord began to challenge that answer and I saw behind the curtain of my own heart. I don’t know if you can believe this, but Jesus challenged me through the movie, Alice in Wonderland. I know. I wish I had a more spiritual answer that made me sound like a holy, righteous person. But I don’t. I’m just a mom of three, watching a movie, who had her heart gripped by one phrase:

“I sometimes believe in as many as six impossible things before breakfast”

I’ve always been labeled a dreamer. Even as a child my head stayed in the clouds. So when I heard the Lord ask me why I never asked Him for impossible things I was a bit stunned, offended even. For weeks I pondered this question. I’ve seen impossible things happen, but ASKING for impossible things gave me trouble. What if He didn’t come through? As I wrestled with this question I found a lack of trust within myself. This lack kept me from asking the Father for impossible things. Things that I knew only He had control over. So, I repented. Then I began asking. Asking for things like our city to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I asked for our streets to be the ones to dwell in. I asked for justice and righteousness, the very foundations of His throne, to be known in Macon.

“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” -Matthew 19:26

Jesus loves our city. He wants His people to partner with Him. And guess what? I’m not the dreamer. He is. Jesus has great dreams for this city. Are you bold enough to ask Him to do the impossible? Will you ask Him to come and establish His Kingdom in the least likely of places? Because He will, He will do it.

If you are looking for a challenge today, ask Jesus what the longing of His heart is for you. Then, muster up your faith and ask Him for it. Ask Him for what looks to be impossible. Prepare your heart for total obedience when the doors open. The Kingdom must come to Macon, but it has to come in you first. You are a son with an inheritance. You can dream impossible things. Run well. Fight hard. Dream big.
