Gardens & Greenhouses

If you visit our Hope Center, you will see a large greenhouse and garden planted right there on campus. God has used the garden and greenhouse as a great way to tell the story of our ministry. It is also a great way to develop our staff and those in discipleship in the areas of work and discipline.

We have a hydroponic greenhouse that is truly and site to behold. We grow a variety of lettuces and vegetables to sell to partners and friends. It provides work and responsibility for those we disciple.

A greenhouse is a great metaphor for ministry. It is an environment that is built for things to grow inside that would not be able to survive outside. Another benefit of this controlled environment is that things can mature much quicker than they can from normal farming. For instance, It take 3 to 4 months to grow a head of lettuce in the ground. However, in the greenhouse you can grow a head of lettuce in 24 to 28 days. Why, because you feed the plants the perfect nutrients, protect them from inclement weather, and control the temperature for the optimum growth rate.

One way to support our ministry is to enjoy the greens and vegetables that our garden provides. You are not just getting great produce, you are investing in the lives of our children and those we disciple. This year we will have okra, sweet potatoes, corn, squash, zucchini, snap peas, tomatoes, carrots and fresh herbs.
